Fiddler Crab at Tanjung Piai (Cape) - Johor

Fiddler Crabs are small but colourful, most of which occur in mangrove or along the shore on mudflats area.
They come in various colour and belong to the family of Ocypodidae, Genus Uca.

"Like all crabs, fiddler crabs shed their shells as they grow. If they have lost legs or claws during their present growth cycle a new one will be present when they molt. If the large fiddle claw is lost, males will develop one on the opposite side after their next molt. Newly molted crabs are very vulnerable because of their soft shells. They are reclusive and hide until the new shell hardens." Info source from Wikipedia.

We spent a lot of time by chasing this small colourful Fiddler Crabs around the area of our First Trail at Tanjung Piai. Some visitors pass by thought we are crazy! Haha!
I took almost 100 photos about all this crabs, too bad most of them are not presentable! :(
