The 1926 Heritage Hotel is located at Burmah Road, Penang. (N5°25.437' E100°19.234')
On the 3rd day of Chinese New Year (28th JAN 2009, our fourth day in Penang), we decided to stay one night at Penang to save time avoid traveling from Butterworth because Lau came for 2 days 1 night holiday with his family...and we became their tour guide.
We are so fortunate to find this hotel which is not too far from the Georgetown (The Capital of Penang).
We did our room booking from the Booking.com, and the rate was MYR150.00 per day for Deluxe room with 2 breakfast.
But when we check-in to the Hotel, I'm surprised that the Walk-in rate only MYR126.00! Which is much cheaper than the 'Special Internet Booking Rate'! Luckily, there was another MYR40.00 surcharge for Holiday Peak Season, so it come to MYR166.00. I think we save a little....haha!
After the Lobby area, we need to walk to the back of the main building, which is where all the room located. I'm like this small garden before the room block...
There are only 2 storey antique building and with the total of 96 rooms. Our room was at the first floor.
I found out the room was clean enough and the 1.5 horse powerful Air-Conditional was cold enough for the room. It's spacious enough for us...
Every deluxe room has a private balcony. I love the antique design of the doors and windows!
Beside this, the hotel also has a swimming pool located at the right behind the room block. The Jacuzzi is at the corner of the big pool. I'm impressed!
Hotel Guest parking is located at the both side of the room block.
I really love this antique design of the Hotel.
Once home to British colonial officers and local administrators, this wonderful 1920’s property has been completely refurbished to offer a comfortable, modern hotel, whilst maintaining most of its Anglo-Malay architectural essence.
Typical of the colonial era, it is uniquely dressed with beautiful Victorian windows and private balconies, which contribute to a memorable atmosphere and luxurious comfort and charm. Around the hotel you will find little lanes with rustic cafès where you can have a cuppa (or three) and some local fare.
Located in the heart of Penang, this heritage building is strategically located to all major shopping centres, tourist sites, the financial district and corporate towers. The hotel is also very near Georgetown City and 15 kilometres from the Penang International Airport. (Source from Booking.com)
The Breakfast was serve at the small coffee house at the right of the Hotel Lobby.
My buffet breakfast on the next morning. Just wondering that the coupon stated 'American Breakfast'?! Maybe we woke up too late! :)
Overall, the charges of the hotel room is justified with the environment. I will strongly recommend my friend to this hotel if the room is available.
